YAG Capsulotomy

This is a medical procedure performed on the eye, specifically the posterior capsule of the lens, often done after cataract surgery.


During cataract surgery, the natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). In some cases, the capsule that holds the IOL may become cloudy over time, causing vision problems. YAG capsulotomy is a laser procedure that is used to clear this cloudiness, improving vision. This is a relatively quick and painless outpatient procedure.
